Welcome to autoalternativesllc.com. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and the services we provide at our shops. By using our website, submitting a quote request, calling us, or bringing a vehicle to Auto Alternatives (“we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to these Terms.
Please also review our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your information.

Quotes and Estimates
Any price we give you online, over the phone, by text, or in person is an estimate until we have physically inspected your vehicle. Quotes are based on the information you provide and are subject to change if:
- The actual condition of the vehicle differs from what was described
- Additional damage or wear is discovered during inspection or teardown
- Parts pricing changes between the quote and the repair
- Additional services are requested by you after work begins
- The scope of the repair changes for safety or regulatory reasons
We will not begin any additional work beyond your original approval without contacting you first. California law requires us to obtain your authorization before performing repairs, and to notify you if the final bill will exceed the original written estimate by more than 10%. We take this seriously — no surprise charges.
Contact Consent
When you submit a form on our website, call us, text us, or leave a message, you agree that we may contact you back by phone, text message, or email regarding your inquiry. This includes:
- Quote responses and follow-up questions
- Appointment scheduling and reminders
- Status updates on your repair
- Pickup notifications when your vehicle is ready
- Follow-up after service to make sure everything is right
Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. To stop receiving text messages, reply STOP to any message from us. To opt out of marketing calls or emails, contact us using any of the methods above. Note that even after opting out of marketing, we may still contact you about active repair work.
Appointments and Loaner Vehicles
Loaner cars are offered as a courtesy, subject to availability, and typically require a separate loaner agreement signed at drop-off. Terms of that agreement — including proof of insurance, driver eligibility, fuel policy, and mileage limits — will be provided when you check out a loaner.
If you cannot keep a scheduled appointment, please call us as early as possible so we can offer that slot to another customer.
Payment
Payment for services is due at the time of vehicle pickup unless other arrangements have been made in writing. We accept most major credit and debit cards, cash, and (for insurance and warranty claims) direct billing from approved administrators.
Vehicles left uncollected after repair may be subject to storage fees and, in accordance with California law, mechanic’s liens if payment is not received within a reasonable time.
Warranty on Our Work
We stand behind the work we do. Specific warranty terms for parts and labor vary by service type and will be provided on your repair invoice. Warranty coverage generally requires that:
- The repair was performed by Auto Alternatives
- The vehicle has not been subsequently modified, damaged, or serviced elsewhere in a way that affects the repair
- Any claim is presented to us with the original invoice
Some parts (batteries, tires, aftermarket components, etc.) carry the manufacturer’s warranty rather than ours — we’ll help you make claims against those when applicable. Manufacturer, extended, and third-party warranty programs (including used-car dealer warranties like those from Roberts Auto Sales) are governed by the terms of your specific contract with that provider, not by us.
Insurance and Warranty Claims
When you ask us to handle an insurance claim or warranty claim on your behalf, you authorize us to communicate with your insurance carrier or warranty administrator about your vehicle and the required repairs, share the information they need to process the claim, and negotiate for parts and labor coverage on your behalf.
Deductible rebates, when offered, are described in your written estimate and subject to approval based on total repair cost and claim type. Not every claim qualifies. We will always tell you before service begins whether your specific claim qualifies for a rebate.
Website Use
Our website is provided as a resource for customers and potential customers. When you use it, you agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through our forms

Customer Reviews and Testimonials
Customer reviews and testimonials displayed on the site reflect the experiences of individual customers and are not guarantees that every customer will have the same experience. Every repair is different. We aim for the standard our reviews describe on every vehicle, but individual results depend on the specific vehicle, condition, and circumstances.
No Professional Advice
Educational content on the site — repair tips, mythbusters, seasonal advice, warranty explanations, and similar — is provided for general information only. It is not a substitute for a physical inspection of your specific vehicle. Do not rely on general information to diagnose your vehicle’s condition or determine whether a repair is safe or needed. Call us or bring your vehicle in for a proper evaluation.
Third-Party Links and Services
Our website may link to or embed content from third-party services (Google Maps, Instagram, YouTube, warranty administrators, insurance carriers, and similar). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of those third parties. Your interactions with them are governed by their own terms and policies.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by California law, Auto Alternatives is not liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the website
- Loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption arising from website issues
- Damages caused by third-party services, warranty administrators, or insurance carriers
- Damages resulting from your inability to access the website
Nothing in these Terms limits our responsibility for the quality of the repair work we perform on your vehicle. That responsibility is defined by the warranty on our work, California law, and your written repair authorization.
Indemnification
You agree to defend and hold Auto Alternatives harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the website, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party rights.
Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the website will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Stanislaus County, California, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts.
This does not limit any rights you have under California consumer protection laws — including the Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) regulations that apply to all California repair shops. If you have a concern about a repair, please contact us first so we can address it. You may also contact the California Bureau of Automotive Repair at bar.ca.gov or 1-800-952-5210.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be posted on the homepage or communicated when appropriate. Your continued use of the website or our services after we post changes means you accept the updated Terms.
